Why do some clouds fill all the way up with water? And why do some of the  clouds make “sprinkles” and others POUR rain?? Why is rain never hot? Always cold or freezing?

updrafts in hailstorms, 35 mph gusts in blizzards, devastating winds in tornadoes and choking winds in sandstorms.

Blizzards are big snowstorms

This is what makes a blizzard :

1. Sustainded wind or frequent of 33mph or more.

2. Considerable falling and/ or blowing blowing snow reducing visibility to under a quarter mile!

3. These conditions have to continue for at least three consecutive hours!

Hail:

hail is hard ice that can break glass. Like window or Car windshields. Sometimes its big and other times its small! Like this O = big hail. o = small hail.

this is what makes hail.

hail is created when small water droplets are caught in the updraft of a big/ thunderstorm. These water droplets are lifted higher and higher into the sky until they move way above the freezing level and form into ice. Once they become to heavy for the updraft to support, they will start to fall as hail.

that is what makes hail.

fun fact! The biggest size of hail ever recorded was in Bangladesh! It was 7.9 INCHES long! That’s big if you ask me! It was in the 14th of April 1986.

Sand storms:

April 14th ( a lot of April 14ths ) 1935 is known as black Sunday. because it was the largest dust storm in American history

the black Sunday dust storm approaches in northern Texas.

The black Sunday Dust storm went 1000 miles! That afternoon, a gigantic cloud swept across the Great Plains. It blew up to speeds around to 100 mph. It was the storm that gave Texas, the dust bowl.

fun fact!  These dust devils are known as “ Willy willies” in Australia and “Dancing Devils” in America!

Sand storm: a strong wind carrying clouds with sand in it, especially in a  desert

that is what a sand storm is.

TORNADOES

The most violent tornadoes come from supercells, large thunder storms that have winds already in rotation. … Tornadoes form when warm humid air collides with cold, dry air. The denser cold air is pushed over the warm air, usually producing thunderstorms. The warm air rises through the colder air, causing an updraft.

fun facts!

A tornado is as a rotating funnel-shaped cloud that extends from a thunderstorm to the ground with whirling winds that can reach 300 mph

damage paths of tornados can be in excess of one mile wide and 50 miles long.

Tornadoes can accompany tropical storms and hurricanes once on land.

Math.

Anna had 63 marbles.  She put equal groups in 7 containers.  How many marbles did Anna put in each container?

63 / 7 =

m X 7 = 63

7 + 7 = 14    14 + 14 = 28

28 x 2 = 56   56 + 7 = 63

10 x 7 = 70 – 7 = 63

( 9 x 7 )

thats my math for today.
